Systems Administrator

We are a group of fast moving technology companies that provide innovative voice services to consumers and the wholesale market. We have offices in both the US and UK. This role will be based in the UK. Experience is important, but we value talent, motivation, versatility and character in our close-knit team. We are growing quickly, and due to this we need an additional System Administrator to help manage and expand our platform.

About You

• We're looking for a talented Linux System Administrator who is not afraid to get stuck in.
• You'll have a minimum of three years of solid industry experience, and be comfortable working on your own as well as in small teams. You'll find the job is fast-paced and you'll have the opportunity to do cool things that make a real difference to the success of the company. This does however also mean that you'll also need to be well organized, and able to prioritize your time.
• The job requires you to have a blend of knowledge and resourcefulness. Our systems use a broad range of different technologies, so an ability to know when to ask questions and where to look for answers is just as important to us as your existing knowledge.
• You'll have a passion for detail - we put time and effort into ensuring that our servers are well managed, and we expect you to do the same. Existing exposure to technologies such as automated builds and managed package deployment will give you a distinct advantage. If making sure that servers are properly racked and cabling is neatly run and well labeled in Data Centers is your thing, then you are likely the sort of person we are looking for.
• You'll have an inquiring mind, be able to research technology choices and feel comfortable in recommending your choices to management.
• You'll possess a broad knowledge of server monitoring technologies, and be willing to respond outside of office hours on occasion when things go wrong.
• You'll be writing scripts to help improve our server management, so strong competence in either shell or perl is a must.
• You will ideally have come from a job that involved you managing an Internet-facing service. We're looking for someone that understands the security implications of running a service on the Internet, along with practical experience of many of the protocols and tools that you will need to be successful in our business.

PHP developer

Required Experience

• Expert knowledge of PHP5
• Minimum of 3 years of strong Object Oriented design and programming experience
• 2+ years of MySQL database administration
• Experience with JavaScript, XML, CSS, HTML/XHTML, XSLT
• Experience of Linux system administration
• Ability to create frameworks and API's for use by others
• Motivated to work on both fast-paced and highly engineered projects

Preferred Experience

Required Experience

• Expert knowledge of CSS, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, web standards and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with Linux administration via CLI

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with using XSLT to generate websites
• Experience of working as part of a team including source control
